2020 is here, and 2019 was a big year for me, both personally and in my work life. At the end of the year I moved in with my other half and got a new job! It’s been a busy 12 months, but let's have a run down of what's happened illustration wise.
This year I've worked really hard to work out what I wanted The Lazy Lemon to be, what products I wanted to sell and in what direction I wanted to take the brand. The work I've done on social media, by giving the shop it's own instagram, and the additions to the products on offer have really developed the brand in the way I wanted.
The first half of the year consisted of a lot of planning, designing, and awaiting proofs. In August I launched the Spaced Out and Coffee Crew enamel pins, and with that a re brand of backing cards and business cards. I cleaned up and simplified the designs, combining my personal branding with the shop branding.
As well as expanding the enamel pin collection, I also wanted to continue to add more colour to the shop's collection, which I did by launching three new cards in September.
For 2020 I'm going to continue to develop the shop, I've got so many product ideas, just got to get them designed and released!
Aside from The Lazy Lemon, this year I also completed Inktober and various other personal projects including my gouache alphabet series. I'm really happy with how I've improved and expanded on mediums which I'm comfortable with.
Overall it's been a great year and I'm excited for what 2020 will bring, I'm feeling more determined as ever to work on my illustration and continue to grow The Lazy Lemon.
